A nice shot of Jason being hanged before dropping. You can see how close he is to the barn opening. |
These are a few neat photos that I found in old issues of Famous Monsters of Filmland. While they are not at all "unseen," they are a bit different than the scenes we see in the movie. On the top we have a lovely shot of Richard Brooker actually picking up Rachel Howard and below it looks like Richard Brooker and Steve Susskind are looking at the director. The third is an odd shot of the scene with David Wiley. The shot of Robbie Morgan (and Taso Stavrakis's hand) is a full body shot and the shot of Rex Everhart, Walt Gorney and Robbie Morgan is a lovely production photo.

Ah very cool! I like these alternate angles.
ReplyDeleteNotice a bit more extra stage blood on Rachel Howard 's body. And yeah I wonder if the one of the late/great Steve Susskind was them preparing to shoot that again? VERY cool indeed my good man!! A little over three years ago I have MANY notable retro slasher-themed back issues of FMs as well as Fangoria, of course, but I sold them all on eBay as well as most of my standard definition DVDs in order for in coming Blu Ray disc money, I mena to have it, as well as to help my own account on there to irk interests. :)
Yeah, the shot of Jason hanging and picking up Rachel Howard was both in His Name Was Jason, but not the entire shots. I sold all my mags too. Way too heavy to tote to cali. I scanned most of the F13 articles in them.
DeleteYeah I noticed that in the disappointing HNWJ doc. I do not like that Corey you-know-who is "hosting" the new documentary but hopefully it'll mostly be voice-over in the final edit. I still VERY much so wanna see it and yeah I also got the eBook version of the Crstyal Lake Memories book. It has some nice, extended interviews like the more obscure former Miss Teen Florida & Part 3-D alumni Catherine Parks, ect. :) Meh, I must be one of the few Southerners that truly loathes Florida though--I'm so sorry I cannot stand that roach infeted place.
ReplyDeleteBack on topic: Yeah I had at one point close to the five hundred standard definition DVDs, like all of the retro Voltron: Defender of the Univers ti sets and stuff plus many rare, out of print Anchor Bay boxsets such as the obscure to many of the publics eyes Ilsa: Shewolf of the boxset and I needed cash & the time extra space & I wanted to part with the bulk majority and to get rid of my WWE/WWF retro wretlign sets too and so there, I sold off everything.
The same with my Fangos & Famous Monsters too. Some of mine had minor water damage because of an old flood but they still fetched a nice, pretty penny. So how does California treat you these days? And do you audio chat on Skype? Had always wondered. No biggie if 'ya don't ...
Okay, minor correction here:
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to make sure that your correct current e-mail address is still spelle lower-case xscabboyx@gmail.com, am I correct? Because I've recently found some more obscure pics with the earl actors of the franchise and I've been wanting to share'em with you to save on your hard drive or for a future update, ect. :) Hope I am more of a friend and never a bother. ;-)
It is. I have your emails, just haven't gotten around to posting them. I have a lot of posts queued.
DeleteOops, I almost forgot to mention: I remember an old "Women of Crystal Lake" Two Parter from writer Marc Shapiro of Fangoria fame where in there was that top shot of Jason merely "hangin' around" on set from the barn hanging scene, only it was in color. I take it that it was from a rare Paramount issued on-set photograph.
ReplyDeleteAlso I believe that was Richard Brooker's body-double. Notice the differing body type. As we all know he couldn't take that fall for actor/insurance reasons. Anyway VERY COOL once again. :)
I think I have a copy of that, too. And I am sure it is the double. I was told by one of the Part III stuntmen that it may have been Mike DeLuna who did the stunt, in fact he was almost sure it was.
DeleteI have seen some of these but these are great love the old newsprint!
ReplyDeleteThese are positively awesome man - thanks for posting them!
ReplyDeleteAh dually noted about the e-mail! I was just about to send some more rare Friday franchise actor stuff that I found. No rush i posting the!! Work at your own pace & take your time. ;-) I mererly wanted to make sure that it was all cool & that I wasn't wasting my time with e-mails that might get lost. Its all cool. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd big thans as I figured that it was DeLuna as his double--they have differing body types.
I love the one with Robbie Morgan!!
