Friday the 13th (1980) Production Photos

Here are some great production photos of Friday the 13th (1980); some very seen, some otherwise. I am posting these because I have always loved the cinematography of Friday the 13th (1980) and these production photos really capture that look and feel.

  2. Very cool photo set, as per alwaya. I've already seen most of those but two were slightly new to me.

I love that one of Annie alone in a publicity looking shot. She looks even sweeter there ;-)

And yeah the early Friday the 13ths always had nice Directors of Photography. Barry Abrams did a FABULOUS job on that first one giving it a nicer, bigger budget look I felt. Also Peter Stein on the second one and Mr. Fernandez on The Final Chapter, to. They were all so nicely, professionally shot getting get shots of the greens as well as the kills and overall setting.

  3. Hi, this is David, author of the upcoming book On Location in Blairstown, which goes on sale September 13 and is now available for pre-order.

My book has lots of production photos, as well as lots of "on location" photos that were taken in 1979. I'm also the only journalist ever to interview cinmatographer Barry Abrams, and the book has a detailed section on Barry's life, and his lighting and cinematography on the film. There's also lots of pictures of Barry from his Vietnam days!

On location in Blairstown: The Making of Friday the 13th covers the creation, planning and filming of the iconic 1980 film Friday the 13th in a way that no other film has been documented before. Through the memories and recollections of the cast and crew, many speaking for the first (and last) time, the book takes the reader "on location" for the 1979 filming of Friday the 13th and behind the scenes for all the adventures, conflicts and dramas that went into the making of one of the most popular horror films in history.
