Halloween goodness: I rank the Halloween movies WORST to FIRST

10) Halloween (2007): By far the worst of the entire franchise, and that says a lot with all of the turds. Rob Zombie did well with this film visually and directing, but once again failed miserably with the writing. In my opinion Zombie went way too far back and recreated way too much about Michael Myers that it simply can not be forgiven. Myers was always a good child from a good family turned evil without any provocation. Zombie made Michael a stereotypical, cliche killer by putting him in a bad family and being a product of his environment.

My favorite movies from the real 'Masters Of Horror'

I get asked a lot- "What are your favorite movies from the 'Masters of Horror'? When I say 'Masters of Horror' I mean the true masters from the late 1970's and 1980's; George A. Romero, Tobe Hooper, Wes Craven, John Carpenter and David Cronenberg. A lot of people may really get angry when I say this, but I truly feel (with an exception of Cronenberg) that all of these directors are well past their prime and really have not done anything worthwhile since the late 1980's (and with Craven the mid 1990's).

However, if I would have to pick two of my favorite movies from each of the aforementioned directors I'd pick these:



George A. Romero:
#1) Day Of The Dead (1985): I absolutely love this movie and think it's far superior to Dawn Of The Dead in may ways. The story not only has a very desperate, claustrophobic feel to it, but it's pretty much everyone's nightmare come true. Imagine being trapped underground with a bunch of evil fucks with machine guns and the alternative is combating the undead and probably being eaten alive. I also feel that this is Tom Savini's best movie special effects wise and has some of the best gore from the 1980's.

Top 10 movies on VHS that I would love to see on DVD?

Some of the most often questions I generally get from my YouTube channel is "recommend me a movie not on DVD" or "what movie not on DVD do you wish was?" Ideally, if a movie is not given proper DVD treatment (i.e. 16x9 anamorphic transfer, Dolby 5.1, commentary, uncut if available, etc) then I really am content with it just being on VHS. The only downside of the VHS format is that it deteriorates over time and in 25 years all you are left with is a fuzzy rolling picture. Now with the technology we have to back up those old VHS tapes to DVDr again leaves me with that same notion... if you are not going to give these films proper DVD treatment then fuck off! My pet peeve is shelling out $11.99 for a DVD and to realize that it's nothing more than a VHS rip on a DVD-- fuck, I can do that myself for fifty cents!

So, lately I have been doing a series of videos on YouTube of VHS tapes that I have that I'd like to see have a proper DVD treatment. So far I have chosen 50- 5 per video- but I will narrow my choices down to 10 HORROR and give you guys a brief description why.
