Manny's Orphans (1978)

Back before Sean S. Cunningham wanted to attempt to cash in on the Halloween slasher craze, he attempted to cash in on the sports team full of down-and-out pre-teens craze – al a The Bad News Bears – with Manny's Oprhans and then Here Come the Tigers. 

Manny's Orphans is a tad better than Here Come the Tigers, in my opinion, but both movies failed to capture that fun that The Bad News Bears captured.

Manny's Orphans was made with a slightly lower budget than Friday the 13th, but had the same team of Cunningham (director), Victor Miller (writer), and Steve Miner (editor, assistant) and even some of cast members: Ari Lehman and Irwin Keyes. 

Apparently Manny's Orphans was based on a short story by Miner.

Part III Revealing Shots of Jason

One if the better things about putting these old horror movies on Bluray is that we see never before seen details. Growing up in a VHS era, these movies were always dark and fuzzy to where details were impossible to make out. Ever since these movies have been on DVD, we could make out that Part III has some very revealing shots of Jason's face. But still, they were hard to really see and served as nothing more than teases before the final reveal at the end.

Marta Kober in a Touch of Scandal (1984)

Marta Kober (Friday the 13th: Part II) has a small role in this whodunit thriller about a serial killer who kills for political gain. It's nothing original, but I guess it's pretty typical of these 1980s thrillers.
