Latex FX Revisited

made by: Latex FX
Back in 2005 - 2007 Latex FX kicked out some awesome busts and these two now legendary and classic busts (Lloyd and Chopping Block, respectively) were easily some of the best in the era especially since not a lot of Part IIIs were being made-- at least not very good ones (aside from 2 or 3).

How 'Bout a Remake Bust!

made by: Kyle Huculak
I am not a fan of the remake of Friday the 13th, or Jason's look in that movie. But this is undeniably one of the best remake busts out there bar-none. Kyle Huculak is a professional SFX artist out of Vancouver, British Columbia with some amazing talent. Definitely check out his work and have him commission you a piece.

Crash's Part VII Screen Used Casting

from: Crash Creations
This is his casting of the screen-used Part VII hero mask in resin from Josh Ludemann. I think these would be bad-ass to be used in making Part VII replicas. However, if not, this is an amazing reference for making your own Part VII.

Two Jason IV Busts

from: Night Owl Forum member: The Death Curse

If I was still collecting this would have been at the top of my list. It was made from the screen-used face appliances, a bit of tooling and re-sculpting by Ryan "The Death Curse"  and limited to 20 pieces and I believe blanks sold for $225. Hands-down, the BEST Part IV likeness that has ever been made and rightfully so, since it was cast from the exact appliances that Ted White wore in Friday the 13th: Part IV.

A Shot of the New Owner of the Jason "Hero" Hockey Mask

Dick Warlock with Dario Latinovic; from yourprops.com
So, by now it's very old news that Dick Warlock sold his beloved hockey mask. And for those Friday the 13th nerds out there-- like me-- who salivated over this mask combo for years, here's a nice shot of Dick passing the reigns over to the new (and obviously proud) owner Dario Latinovic. This is the screen-used hockey mask worn by Jason in Friday the 13th: Part III (at the end), IV and V and used as a template for the masks used in the later films. It's definitely an important one-of-a-kind piece of Friday the 13th memorabilia.

Warlock Clone Perfection

Since I have more time I have gotten back into blogging and reading blogs. This one came from my visit to the JasonLivesSince1980.Blogspot.com site and I think it's easily in the top 3 replicas I have seen. Obviously there's a few marks that are a little off, but overall it's about 98% exact-- and he may still be accepting commissions on these!

Go check it out.

Legendary SPFX Jason IV for Sale!

White Hockey Mask included. SPFX Jason Voorhees Part 4 Silicone Mask. This mask is one of rarest silicone mask ever made. I was told that only about 12 of these were ever made for the public and the guy who did the make up in the friday the 13th part 4 movie for Jason actually sculpted this mask himself. This mask is in mint condition with not rips or tears. Just like any SPFX mask, this one is ultra realistic, and it is very hard to find any type of a Jason silicone mask as there are not many made. You do not want to miss your chance to own this extremely rare mask!I am also selling a extremely rare SPFX Freddy Silicone Mask, so check that out if you'd like!

For info.

The Journey of the Part III Mask

The first glimpses of Jason's hockey mask
Friday The 13th parts II - V may not be perfect continuity-wise, but I think they have the best continuity flow movie-to-movie of the entire franchise. Parts II - IV tell a story over an extended weekend of the rampage of the serial killer Jason Voorhees from start until he is finally killed at the end of Part IV. I still say that the franchise would have ad a lot more credibility if it ended with The Final Chapter or even A New Beginning. Regardless of the (near) fatal blows Jason took through parts II - IV (i.e. a machete severing his sub-clavian artery in II, a hanging in III, etc) -which all can be contributed to logic errors- these entries can be realistically easily be set in reality about a real-live killer. If Jason was once and for all defeated at the end of Part IV, I think critics would have given the franchise a bit more credit than they do now.

Dbach's Hangman.

Finally got one of these, awesome AWESOME piece, really good price. I had some cash left over from some masks I sold on eBay to pay my CC bill, so it was so worth it.

Check out more photos at the Night Owl Forum.

He was so grotesque.

Crash Cunningham's sculpture of the late legend Stan Winston's Jason Voorhees from Friday The 13th Part III. This face was used throughout the entire movie except the very end where his face was revealed- that face was done by Douglas J. White and Allan A. Appone.

Crash is an excellent artist and can't wait to get my hands on one of these busts!

Part VI sculpt close up.

This was posted on the F13-community forums- its a close up of what looks like either a sculpt of, or the actual make up appliance for Jason in Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. I guess it is from an old Fangoria issue, I better go and look for it because I have virtually all of them!

I don't know, I just found this interesting since it's pretty rare that we a super up close (albeit not a great photo) of the face of Jason VI!

Night Owl Productions: Bloody Mutant.

I recently received this from Justin at Night Owl Productions, it's the mutant bust (loosely based off of Jason III) done custom to mimic the Jason at the end of Friday The 13th Part III where his face is exposed with the fresh (and soon to be) iconic axe wound. Justin basically cut the axe wound out of the top of the head and applied a latex appliance underneath and then of course the blood. It looks flawless and am very happy with this!

JasonLivesSince1980's Part 3 bust is finished!

He's selling raw (blank) pulls for $180 and this thing came out fantastic. I think it's one of the top 4 Part 3 busts out there and that says a lot. You can contact him through the Night Owl Forum if you are interested in this!

Scored an ITZ-U!

I've been wanting to get my hands on one of these for some time now. I've tried a few other times and the deal always seemed to fall through. This one is #7 of 16(I think it was of 16- may be 17) and is just as stunning in person. These were done up in very limited quantity by 'Dahone' (a.k.a Rich Krusell) at www.busitdesigns.com.

Rich also does commissioned work with sculpting and special effects and is also known for his amazing renditions of Big Poppa from Land Of The Dead and Bub from Day Of The Dead (1985).

My new "Roy" Bohr/Dark Side Studios.

Until Night Owl releases their Dick Head Roy mask, this will have to do. I am not a huge fan of this sculpt, but it does has it's charm. This one was sculpted by Jeremy Bohr and painted by Dark Side Studios. I am not liking the eyes, so I will have them repainted as well as the brows punched as apposed to glued.

Not to knock the painter-- it is painted fine, I am just anal. With some added highlights and tweaks here and there this will be a show-quality piece! The pull is super thick so it stands up well as a bust- I think I will have it foam filled as well.

Bohr's Part 3 "Winston" Jason bust.

I really dislike re-posting things like this from other blogs, however generally when I am do I am vague and link to the blog that I got the information from. At any rate, I really love this look that was indeed used in the film-- the entire film except for the ending, we just never saw the face. It's the concept that special effects guru Stan Winston made up as the face of Jason Voorhees in Friday The 13th Part III. At the end of the movie, when the ending on the DVD was shot they opted for something less monstrous.

Throughout the movie Richard Brooker wears this mask, and you can even see a small glimpse of it when he is watching the cabin from the barn door, when he jumps down to kill Ali and in Chris' flashback.

Jeremy Bohr
did a phenomenal job on this (but I still love Crash's version more) and is a steal at the price he is selling it for. Checkout Horror Bid for more photos, price and ordering information!
