Fan film Friday: Mother's Day

Way back in the day (about 2 years ago) reviews for this film flooded the Friday The 13th and fan film world alike. I can't lie- I was one of the dorks anxiously awaiting this film from day one being a huge fan of Eric Morse's four tie in books.

This film, I have to say is film is one of the most professionally made Friday The 13th fan films (with Legends, The Storm, Revenge, etc) and one of the very few full length fan film ventures out there. That's not where the greatness ends- this film may have a feel of a Sub Rosa Studios slasher film, but the shots, acting and directing are all superb.

From the Friday The 13th Blog: Jeff Wilson interview.

I thought this was interesting, I am very excited for this film being a pretty big fan of this book by Eric Morse and all. I was pretty excited to see this interview. Read the rest here.

Will the film be graphic in terms of violence and nudity and will this satisfy the gore fans? “I am hoping to have it graphic in terms of violence but not too graphic and I don’t want it to be too graphic in terms of nudity because original Friday movies weren’t very graphic nudity wise.”
When do you plan to start filming and how long are you expecting the shoot to last?
“I am hoping to start filming in mid to late 2010 and I am hoping to have it released or in the post production stages by early 2012.”

Why do you think the Friday the 13th franchise has remained so popular for so long and which of the previous films do you think has influenced your style and Jason's Curse the most?
“That’s a really tough one but it’s a true classic horror movie and just like the Halloween movies there is always another part of the story to tell, and the story is never complete with another surprise in every movie.”

A word from Eric Morse about his "bashers" !

A lot of people may not know that there are a small handful of people out there who are dead set on discrediting, ruining and smearing Eric Morse's reputation. These people have been relentlessly logging into forums, movie web sites and anywhere else to crap talk him and put his work down. Now, Eric may not be the best novelist out there but at the same time he has written some really good Friday The 13th young-adult oriented books; The Carnival, Road Trip, Jason's Curse and of course Mother's Day which had a full length fan film made based on it. Anyone interested in getting those books, give this a little read for information to where you can get them for next to nothing and still help out ole Mister Morse! While you are att it add him on MySpace- he goes by his true name William Pattison.
