Halloween goodness: I rank the Halloween movies WORST to FIRST

10) Halloween (2007): By far the worst of the entire franchise, and that says a lot with all of the turds. Rob Zombie did well with this film visually and directing, but once again failed miserably with the writing. In my opinion Zombie went way too far back and recreated way too much about Michael Myers that it simply can not be forgiven. Myers was always a good child from a good family turned evil without any provocation. Zombie made Michael a stereotypical, cliche killer by putting him in a bad family and being a product of his environment.

By popular demand: Scabboy's Top 10 Halloween flicks!

So, I get asked a lot about my favorite movies to watch on Halloween. Realistically, you can never count out the obvious Halloween movies (i.e. Halloween) so I will do a top ten list. Most people's Halloween top 10 is chock-full of Halloween sequels, Universal Monster movies and Saw films- mine isn't. I think some people will be surprised with some of my picks.

10) Trick Or Treat (1986): Not only is this a Halloween based movie (hence the name) with that 1980's cheesy charm, but it has Skippy (Marc Price) from Family Ties with a kick ass mullet. The movie also has cameos by Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons. The story is also quite simple- the school outcast played by Marc obtains a demo from his late rock hero who died in a fire. The tape possesses him and he seems revenge against his tormentors. Even though this is #10, it's a MUST for Halloween viewing.

Madman Marz and Cropsy makes the top movie killers on OnlyGoodMovies.com!

I thought I would plug this since they linked to me, but still I think it's a great list so check out their Top 100 movie killers article.

I can't say that I agree with Victor Crowley over Madman Marz or Cropsy, but it's still nice that they topped the list!

9. Victor Crowley from Hatchet - As a child, Victor was hit in the face with a hatchet. This did nothing to improve his looks (or his disposition). Don’t let this backwoods killer get his hands on you, or he’ll literally rip your limbs from your body.
10. Cropsey from The Burning - A summer camp caretaker burned beyond recognition, Cropsey returns to wreak bloody vengeance with a lethal pair of shears. Can the likes of Fisher Stevens and Jason Alexander stop him?
11. Papa Hades from The Hills Have Eyes 2 (2007) - This massive mutant is a real handful, able to withstand tons of damage before going down. Steer clear if you’re a woman, or else you’ll become the latest mother to his mutated offspring.
12. Madman Marz from Madman - If you even say his name, this mad hillbilly will hunt you down and end your life. A group of smartass teens find this out the hard way.
13. The Mountain Twins from Just Before Dawn - Two huge palookas skulking around the mountains and attacking anyone who strays into their territory. You know you’re bad when George Kennedy is trying to track you down.

Jason's mask donning- epic or cheesy?

Shelly (Larry Zerner) and his beloved gag hockey mask
So, there has been a lot of debate about how Jason donned his infamous hockey mask in Friday The 13th 2009. I personally thought it was a tad bit on the cheesy side how he checked himself out in the mirror afterward, yet a lot of people think it was the best donning to date.

I still say the way he obtained the mask in Part III is, and will always be the most infamous and epic. It's really hard to top that. Here's my rankings:

#4) Jason takes a hockey mask from Jim on the house boat: What are the odds that there is yet one more hockey mask replica with an axe crack? What are the chances that mask will be in the same place as Jason?
