This is his casting of the screen-used Part VII hero mask in resin from Josh Ludemann. I think these would be bad-ass to be used in making Part VII replicas. However, if not, this is an amazing reference for making your own Part VII.

So, by now it's very old news that Dick Warlock sold his beloved hockey mask. And for those Friday the 13th nerds out there-- like me-- who salivated over this mask combo for years, here's a nice shot of Dick passing the reigns over to the new (and obviously proud) owner Dario Latinovic. This is the screen-used hockey mask worn by Jason in Friday the 13th: Part III (at the end), IV and V and used as a template for the masks used in the later films. It's definitely an important one-of-a-kind piece of Friday the 13th memorabilia.

Since I have more time I have gotten back into blogging and reading blogs. This one came from my visit to the JasonLivesSince1980.Blogspot.com site and I think it's easily in the top 3 replicas I have seen. Obviously there's a few marks that are a little off, but overall it's about 98% exact-- and he may still be accepting commissions on these!

Friday The 13th parts II - V may not be perfect continuity-wise, but I think they have the best continuity flow movie-to-movie of the entire franchise. Parts II - IV tell a story over an extended weekend of the rampage of the serial killer Jason Voorhees from start until he is finally killed at the end of Part IV. I still say that the franchise would have ad a lot more credibility if it ended with The Final Chapter or even A New Beginning. Regardless of the (near) fatal blows Jason took through parts II - IV (i.e. a machete severing his sub-clavian artery in II, a hanging in III, etc) -which all can be contributed to logic errors- these entries can be realistically easily be set in reality about a real-live killer. If Jason was once and for all defeated at the end of Part IV, I think critics would have given the franchise a bit more credit than they do now.

Nice Part IV/V masks

I can really dig any screen-accurate 3,4 or 5 mask out there. This dude has been doing up some really nice ones as of late. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people buy Fright Stuff blanks and throw a crappy, fast paint job down on it and sell it for 90 bucks-- but it does come with a C.O.A.! It's really nice to see people actually giving these things meticulous paint jobs and actually spending time on them-- making them worth the price you pay!

Larry Zerner posted this on his Face book and I found this interesting to say the least.

The most recognizable piece of sports equipment was never used in an actual game. Unless you consider mass murder a sport.

The first time I noticed it was as I walked through the local video store, a preteen-ager not yet worried about catching glimpses through the doors of the adults-only section. Then, I was more focused on the forbidden allure of the horror aisle, fascinated by the terrible images on the back of the VHS boxes: buxom girls in tattered clothes screaming, chain saws glistening, bloody machetes about to strike. These weren't production stills, they were portals to hell. And every so often, you could catch sight of the demon causing all the wreckage: a bulking man in a hockey mask.

Here ya go- as brilliant as ever, painted on a Fright Stuff blank. I truly dig the fuck out of this mask rendition and this one has to be one of the best that I have ever seen. Night Owl forums member 'jasonlivessince1980' is selling his for $220, which is a pretty fair price. Check out the thread if you are interested and be aware that this mask, with this kind of craftsmanship is once in a while chance.

Being a huge fan of A New Beginning and a fan of Crash's work, after I saw one of these dream hocks that he did some time ago I decided that I wanted one for myself. Here are some photos from Crash's site of my hock-- it's done on a clear blank and screen accurate to a tee. One thing I really love about this hock is the Frankenstein look to it with the screws holding the straps and buttons on. This was probably because David Miller removed them to make a mold to produce
the Roy hocks that were used in the movie.

Before there was Jason there was... Dave Parker?

So, I have always thought that this was an interesting story. Being 32, I never got to see ex-Major Leaguer Dave Parker until his World Series run with the Oakland Athletics in the late 80's and early 90's. In 1978 Parker broke his jaw and cheekbone and when he returned to the lineup he wore an assortment of masks, one being an old style hockey mask-- Jason would have been jealous!
