Jason Lives 1987 Calendar

Here's a really cool 1987 cloth calendar to promote Friday the 13th: Part VI for video stores. I may not be a huge fan of this movie, but am a huge fan of this video-store nostalgia as well as old-school slasher (particularly Friday the 13th) marketing memorabilia.

Jason Lives: Behind the Scenes

From Tom McLoughlin's Facebook page
A rare behind-the-scenes photo of director Tom McLoughlin and his leading male Thom Mathews in the 1986 film Friday the 13th, Part VI: Jason Lives, on set in Covington, Georgia.

Darcy Demoss the Dancer

courtesy: 1998 webMEDIA
Darcy shows her moves. I can't say that she is my favorite, or close to favorite, Friday girl. But I am very fond of her work as an actress in general. Back in the 90s I would always confuse her with Jewel Shepard.

Apparently she is a great dancer and even though this photo states that it is from 1998, I suspect it is much older than that. Anyone with info on this leave a comment.

Part V and Part VI Posters Share Same Art

Remember my post about how the Turkish poster for Friday the 13th: Part V was just a facsimile of the art on the movie The Wind? Here's some more Part V plagiarism for ya! On the left is one straight from Italy, starring Susan Ross...err... SHAVAR Ross it is Il Terrore Continua, translated into The Terror Continues.  Jason è tornato e non vi farà dormire per lungo tempo, well the tagline translated to English is 'Jason is back and will not let you sleep for a long time.' Sure beats 'If Jason still haunts you, you're not alone!'

Jason Lives Behind the Scenes

Since I am on a Jason Lives kick on here (two straight posts, baby!), I thought some of these were really cool. They are from TGIF13 and I believe are from the collection of Crash Cunningham.  I'm not a huge fan of this movie, but for what it is it is very fun. It's always fun and nostalgic to see behind the scenes photos of the movies since us fans were never, and will never be blessed with true "making of" featurettes of these films. Enjoy.

Jason Lives TV Trailer

Okay, I must admit that I love these things and love seeing the different adverts for the movies on different networks. Here's one from 1989 on "Action Theater" that is actually very entertaining. If anyone has these nifty TV adverts please upload and share them!

Portuguese VHS Covers

from: http://forum.cinemaemcena.com.br
Here's a collection of VHS clamshells from sinemamkena, from what I presume to be Brazil since the language is Portuguese. One of the things I did dig about the Paramount releases is that they took the liberty of teasing the hell out of us fans by including scenes cut from the movies on the back of the tapes.

What Became of the Hired-Then-Fired Jason Voorhees, Dan Bradley?

Dan Bradley has only gone on to become the most sought after action-scene stunt coordinators. Long gone are the days where he was fired from an acting and stunt job as Jason Voorhees for being too 'portly.' Bradley has since done some very large-scale action movies, most notable the Bourne series.

A Conversation with Darcy DeMoss

The beautiful Ami Dolenz with Darci

One of the most unsung beauties of the entire Friday the 13th franchise, Darcy DeMoss (Friday the 13th: Part VI and nearly Part V) is one of the lost loyal to her fans and as far back as I can remember, always has been.

Here's a pretty in-depth interview with her, covering most of her more well-known roles.

Would Jason Kill a Child?

Friday the 13th: Part IV
It seems like every board I go on that debates the Friday the 13th films, this subject is discussed. Most people side with the notion that Jason would not kill a child. I am not sure why people come up with this conclusion, since most of those people will agree that Jason is a mindless killer who's driven out of vengeance and evil (whether possessed or an embodiment).

Remembering the Unknown Jasons

Roy Burns stand-in doing a kill scene
When you say the name Jason many names may come to mind; Kane Hodder, Ted White, Richard Brooker, C.J. Graham or maybe even Steve Dash. This entry is dedicated to all of those people who played Jason- even for a scene- and never gets mentioned.

Part VI sculpt close up.

This was posted on the F13-community forums- its a close up of what looks like either a sculpt of, or the actual make up appliance for Jason in Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. I guess it is from an old Fangoria issue, I better go and look for it because I have virtually all of them!

I don't know, I just found this interesting since it's pretty rare that we a super up close (albeit not a great photo) of the face of Jason VI!

Behind The Scenes Photos Of The Week: Jason Lives

Here are some behind the scenes photos of Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives that I had floating around on my hard drive. I'm not sure what the one of CJ Graham having make up applied to his face is from- it's more recent- but, I included it too.

CLAD: Thom Mathews interview.

Thom Mathews as Tommy Jarvis
CLAD forum did a short interview with Thom Mathews, more known to us horror fans from Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives and Return Of The Living Dead. It's worth a read, however Thom was pretty short and a little condescending.

CLAD: Did you have relationships with any of the cast members?
TM: Jimmy Karen and I spooned once. One time come on!

Video interview with CJ Graham.

Odd fact I learned here; Kane Hodder was the first choice for the Hell Cop in Highyway To Hell, which starred C.J. Graham.
