Jason Lives 1987 Calendar

Here's a really cool 1987 cloth calendar to promote Friday the 13th: Part VI for video stores. I may not be a huge fan of this movie, but am a huge fan of this video-store nostalgia as well as old-school slasher (particularly Friday the 13th) marketing memorabilia.

Friday the 13th: Part VII & Jack's Back Promo Poster!

Have you ever seen this? A promo poster from Paramount advertising both Friday the 13th: Part II and Jack's Back! I gotta say this baby is rare!

Jason comes back: A film in which they scream in fear!

Brandon Middleton found this great German one sheet for Friday the 13th: Part IV.  The text reads: Jason comes back a film in which they scream in fear, The Last Chapter. Thanks, Brandon!

French Video Poster

I dig anything video with it comes to these movies and expecially the promo posters, standees and hangers. All are from an era lost and an era that will never be again: the mom and pop video rental store era. I mean, now you can stream movies with ease, but you can not stream the experience. Now the promo posters and press kits are all digital. That's no good.

Part V and Part VI Posters Share Same Art

Remember my post about how the Turkish poster for Friday the 13th: Part V was just a facsimile of the art on the movie The Wind? Here's some more Part V plagiarism for ya! On the left is one straight from Italy, starring Susan Ross...err... SHAVAR Ross it is Il Terrore Continua, translated into The Terror Continues.  Jason è tornato e non vi farà dormire per lungo tempo, well the tagline translated to English is 'Jason is back and will not let you sleep for a long time.' Sure beats 'If Jason still haunts you, you're not alone!'

Jason X Italian Movie Poster

Since I am not a fan of Jason X, I rarely post anything on the movie. But I do have to admit that this poster is pretty good. It's the Jason X onesheet (if they call them onesheets in Italy) with some pretty nice art. The tagline makes no sense, though: "We all die too violent death."

Parts II and III Italian Lobby Cards

Two sets of Italian lobby cards for Friday the 13th II & III. L'Assassino Ti Siedi Accanto is translated into "The Murderess Sitting Next To You" and Week-End Di Terrore is obviously "Weekend of Terror."

Thai Part III Poster

I found this among my files and am not sure where I acquired this. It's artwork that I have never seen before, which is always exciting. Of course the poster also has Chris in it, which is another huge plus!

Which Came First?

Well, obviously we know The Wind (also known as Edge of Terror) had this artwork first since the star of The Wind, Meg Foster, is depicted in the artwork. But strangely enough, The Wind was released in the USA in November of 1987 and Friday the 13th: Part V was of course released in 1985. However, this is the poster for the theatrical run in Turkey, which started January of 1987. So that being said, this poster was released to theaters (probably) January of 1987 when The Wind wasn't released until November. So, perhaps the direct-to-video The Wind had its cover art long before its release.

Two for Part II

You thought the Part II poster from Turkey was great; there's a better one from Thailand. This one even has Jeff and Sandra getting busy... I am assuming that's who it is. Maybe it is Mark and Vicky!

Awesome Part III Dutch poster.

I saw this posted on the Friday The 13th blog today and I am a collector of obscure, cool Friday The 13th posters and a while back I posted some cool ones from Yugoslavia, but this Dutch one has to be one of the most badass ones that I have seen in a while.

Thanks to jasonsfury for posting this!
