Needless to say, Friday the 13th: Part V - A New Beginning is probably one of my three favorite Friday the 13th films. And realistically, as a saga Parts 1-5 can't be topped by any other slasher franchise that spanned more than a few sequels.
Even with the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, the movies shit the bed by Part IV. Then we have the franchises like Children of the Corn, Hellraiser, Leprechaun, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, etc, that became pure garbage after 2 or 3 sequels.
Looks like Jason is taking a break on yet another Friday the 13th.
It seems like every thing that was in talks has yet to come to fruition. No movies, no TV series, nothing. I think that I may be okay with that, too.

And sorry that I don't update this much, I really don't have a whole lot to say about the franchise right now.
There's apparently a band out of Missouri called Death Curse. The album art of their self-titled release depicts an unmasked Jason Voorhees hunting a would-be victim. It's obviously heavily Friday the 13th influenced, but not the gimmick rock of Ari Lehman's First Jason. In fact, this album rips ass and is pretty heavy shit.
Even though Wes Craven has made some really bad movies, he still stands way up there with some of the greatest horror flicks of the 70s and 80s. He will always be one of my heros - rest in peace, Wes Craven.
Rumors floating around from Deadline.com has hinted that there may be a Friday the 13th TV series in the works on the CW. While I really don't care much for a TV series based around Jason, this one seems to be a tad more interesting as it is said to be "grounded in reality." I can get behind that!

This movie was bound to have a modernized version made, and probably one of the last good slasher films out there that could handle an update. Years back the Gray brothers of the Guts and Gory fame talked about lensing a remake of this film, and apparently it fell through.
This may sound bitter, but I am so tired of these revival films exploiting old franchises and movies to capture the old audience with a new, shitty, film using the name for sales. We see this all the time and 95% of the time the movies are unwatchable.

Marta was picked up in Selma, Oregon for an outstanding warrant – and $4,000 bond – not too long ago. I am trying to find out what the warrant was for, but there's no indication anywhere.
I think all of us is pretty aware of F. Warrington Gillette's (maybe, maybe not) film Bloody Social was about his mother allegedly killing his father, and all for money. I got bored and looked them up and it turns out that the Gillet (how his last name is actually spelled) family was a pretty well known family in Palm Beach, Florida.
His mother was a very well known socialite, very active in the arts and headed many benefits. His father, Francis Warrington Gillet, Jr., also mingled with politicians, raced horses (Explains Warrington, III's love of horses!), and kept close ties with very wealthy people.
Wetmovie1 gives us the news. Even he is trilled! Yeah!
So, it is confirmed—us Friday the 13th marks get out way. We have been hoping, and praying for this franchise to continue on. Some of us have even said, "Even if it is shitty, just give us a new one!" Well, our wishes have been granted; ask and ye shall receive.
Everyone knows my opinions on this, but I will reiterate. The "found footage" gimmick is so 1996; Friday the 13th is again putting on a spent condom line they did in the reboot/remake. The tired gimmick that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake used, Friday the 13th slopped up.
This is not new to the franchise, either. Way back in 1987, the franchise even stole an idea from itself when it essentially remade The Final Chapter with the shitfest The New Blood.
a) We do not need another "found footage" movie, PERIOD.
b) We do not need another fucking reboot! We had that with every fucking movie after Part IV!
I thought the franchise officially ran out of ideas with Jason Goes To Hell, Jason X and FvJ! I guess not.
I guess Paramount wants this movie to bomb to finally hammer the nails into the coffin of Jason Voorhees once and for all. The character is already the laughing stock of the horror genre.
I am not one to "out", but since these are over a decade old (from 02-03) I thought I would share. I personally love mugshots and think they make girls look sexy. Obviously, these are from a low point in one's life and it seems that Kirsten Baker had a problem "knowing when to say when" from 02 to 03 and was arrested multiple times for driving under the influence. It seems now she has gotten her shit back in order and doesn't do stuff like this anymore- at least I hope not. I still think these photos are pretty adorable.
Possibly even more unsettling to Dad's memory is the role lately taken by another Crosby kid. In this summer's nastiest horror film, Friday the 13th, Bing's namesake, Harry Lillis Crosby III, 21, plays a camp counselor who witnesses various beheadings, garrotings and throat slashings before he himself is bloodily dispatched by a homicidal archer after a game of strip Monopoly. The Old Man would be more aghast if he knew that the nonstop gore helped Friday earn $27 million in its first month alone. Worse, young Harry found all the mayhem "an awful lot of fun."

Here's a neat little film in post-production starring some Friday the 13th familiars. The plot sounds really entertaining and the trailer also looks pretty good. The movie was written and directed by Mike Gutridge and stars Tracie Savage as Alice Hardy, Paul Kratka as Norman Hardy and Ron Millkie as Detective Meeker. The story takes place in Carpenter County, an obvious nod to John Carpenter and also a nearby-place spoken about in Friday the 13th: Part VI.
Here's a neat interview with Mr. Jason 2009 himself from Next Movie where he speaks about his upcoming film Gangster Squad where he works alongside Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling-- sorta. I suspect that his role in Goon Squad is small and this interview was poking fun at that.
Actor/comedian/goon-for-hire Derek Mears is a student of history, a man who clearly respects the goons who came before him while looking at himself as a role model for a new generation of goons being ushered in. His dedication shines through in the new shoot-em-up "Gangster Squad," in which Mears appears opposite Sean Penn, Josh Brolin and Ryan Gosling in the vital role of "Bridge Goon."
Examiner.com released one of the never-before-seen photos that will make it to the new David Grove book On Location in Blairstown: The Making of Friday the 13th a long with some words from Grove himself on doing this book as a follow up to Legend of Camp Blood.
When asked why he wanted to revisit "Friday the 13th," Grove told Riverside Horror, "my goal with this book was to write one of the most detailed books ever written about the making of a single film, which in this case is the first 'Friday the 13th' film; a book that would match other great books in the genre, like Stephen Rebello's 'Psycho' book and David A. Szulkin's book on the making of 'Last House on the Left.' I feel I have succeeded." [...]
