A New Beginning Screen-Used Machete

from: Your Props
From time to time we see these Friday the 13th screen-used props come up, but here's one from A New Beginning owned by "Deadmess" from the Your Props website. This machete has the cut-out for the neck-- to simulate it cutting-- and a blood tube to add blood to the faux cut. This kill, like most in A New Beginning, was pretty much cut out of the movie.

Aww too cool to see that you read my older e-mail from now now defunct account. :) And yeah I found A FUCK TON of cool stuff that day that I linked to you.

By care hen asking on there though, bro: I once asked about a screen used "Father Death" Ghostface killer robe from one of the Scream films, and just because I asked for a little less, some douchebag REALLY grilled me via private message and I had to tell him "Okay bro, I get it now but relax--calm the fuck down, you don't have to sell it to me Sheesh".

Anyway this was very cool. :) Its to my understanding that tubing & already cut weapons have always been the Savini like way of doing Weapon Work for films. :)

  2. I'd love to see the history of props because usually they are not used in only one film expecially back then

    That correct now, DougSings.

The actor that plays Junior in Part for example, only got his head back YEARS after the fact in the early '90s where he said that the head had been used two more times, his prop decapitated head.

By the way to Jack: I can't send this to ya via e-mail as I no longer have your address, there is this cool German Friay fan tat made a fuck ton of uncut, Paramount-era death sequences. Now they're not THAT believable, more or less looking like Romero's CGI work for Survival & Diary now, but they are fairly respectable efforts from a fan that has been using the MPAA internet movie database descriptions to show what they MIGHT hae looked like.

    A really good one here:

  6. I'd rather the Savini way with real weapons and appliances rather than fake weapons. Looks fake.

I Actually pretty much more-or-les respectfully agree with you up there, Torey.

However in a mild defense of the Paramount years of the franchise (before the over-bloated budgets for a slasher franchise days of New Line loaded with bad CGI and the like, ect): It is imported to know that the studio made these with little interference as negative pick-ups; they basically gave the film makers most time barely two million U.S. dollars, which even back then wasn't much for a film production schedule, and they often times didn't have access to the best greater Los Angeles area prop houses, too.

Such as the case of The Final Chapter, one installment before this one: Director Joseph Zito REALLY hated the prop weapons & then supposedly real consumer "spy/night vision & intruder detection" gear that they were sent, so after filming them he deleted a lot of Rob the Jason hunter out for revenge woodsman's scenes. He was also reportedly irked that the television versions sometimes include them, plus scenes of Doug & Sara talking, since we all know that they'll be killed before the end of the moment anyhow.
