The Friday The 13th awards.

I thought this idea was cool-- a thread at Friday The 13th Community regarding the best of the franchise. It's fun to see everyone's opinions, here are mine:

Happy Memorial Day.

Memorial Day
Here's a review of probably the worse plagiarisms of Friday The 13th (aside from Camp Daze, maybe) I have ever seen. Regardless, it's a solid shot on DV effort and I like to suggest this movie.

Mind-blowing Part IV piece.

This is from SPFX Masks and is a custom commission piece by sculptor James Kagel (ANOES 5, Poltergeist II, Howling II, Gremlins II) in part of SPFX. This has got to be the hands-down BEST Part IV mask ever. It will be done in silicone and probably painted to be an uncanny resemblance to Ted White's kick ass Jason. You can head on over to the Night Owl Forum to see more photos of this work of art and even give James/SPFX props.

Gillette Vs Dash

Carl Fullerton and his creation Jason Voorhees (Warrington Gillette)
The controversy between Warrington "One Scene" Gillette and Steve "Get My Pictures Off Of Your Fuckin' Table" Dash" by this time is very well known. It has been widely covered in Crystal Lake Memories, His Name Was Jason and online mediums like DeadPit.Com. At this point it is fairly known who is telling the truth and who isn't-- one of the two has more than proven themselves to be a liar and a con artist taking money from fans with a phony movie raffle. I even briefly touched up on it myself by putting up Warington's confession (Guts & Gory) as well as people such as Cliff Cudney calling out his blatant lies.

Return Of The Ghostbusters.

Go here to see this extraordinary fan film-- quite possibly the best fan film ever. This is Braxton Film's take on a new generation of Ghostbusters following the happenings in Freddy Vs. The Ghostbusters and I guarantee if you are a Ghosbusters fan this will blow you away. It has some of the best CG I have ever seen in an indie film, let alone a fan film.

A cool Jason retrospective.

There's a cool little retrospective of the past (main) Jason actors on www.empireonline.com. It explains what they were doing before their role and since their role-- very neat indeed. Go here and check it out!

An interview with Kevin Kaye done by a friend in 2002.

Kevin Kaye played "Larry" in obscure B-Movie The American Scream.

Brandon: So Kevin, thanks very much for answering my questions via AIM.
Kevin Kaye: No problem, thanks for being interested!

Crappy horror movie review Thursday: Delta, Delta, Die! (2003)

Mother Finch and her girls have an insatiable taste for men; their flesh, that is. The Delta Delta Pi sorority girls are not only the most popular and wealthy on campus, but also the most deadly. Now as they prepare for their Twentieth Anniversary Homecoming, a meddlesome student Tobias has enlisted DDP Charter Member Rhonda Cooper. Together they attempt to end the sororities reign of culinary terror that grips the California campus.

Friday The 13th behind the scenes photo of the week.

This one can be found in the Crystal Lake Memories book-- it's the construction of the Higgins' cabin in Friday The 13th Part III. This was built specifically for the production of the movie at The Veluzat Movie Ranch in Newhall, California. The house was constructed with collapsible walls and opening floors to accomodate the cameras, cranes and dollies used in filming the 3-D movie.

The cabin stood until a couple years ago when it was burned to the ground in a suspected arson incident.

Friday The 13th DVD still of the week.

Here we see Jason Voorhees (Tom Morga) and Tommy Jarvis (John Shepherd) in a scene where Tommy is having delusions of Jason in Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning. Most people say this movie was absent of Jason, but this is one of the few scenes with him. It's also mistaken that there were two hockey masks used in this film, when there were actually 4; Roy's, the clean Jason mask with the reversed straps and full top chevron, the muddy mask and this Jason mask (which was the Part 4 mask).
