Again, courtesy of His Name Was Jason here are some behind the scenes photos of Doug's death in Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter. I really dig the whole behind the scenes footage from this movie. We really did not get to see any of this for any of the movies but this one. Sadly, it's all lost and gone so we will probably never unless someone other than Paramount has it.
What is so great about this behind the scenes footage is that we really get to see how these kills were done and what went into them-- that's pretty freaking awesome! In these photos you can sort of see what went into Doug's death and that his head was merely a bust prop with no animatronics/controlled eyes, just a tongue, glass eyes and blood flow.

Into The Pit: The Shocking Story Of DeadPit.com workprint review.
I was not one of the lucky individuals to see this screened at the Fright Night Film Fest, so getting the workprint on DVD was the second best option. I figured I should grab this while it's available because there is no set date for the official DVD release and quite frankly I am not a fan of waiting for a DVD to come out only to be pushed back a few times.

Friday The 13th behind the scenes photos of the week.
Once again, from the His Name Was Jason DVD, here are some behind the scenes shots of Bonnie Hellman's death in Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter. In one close up shot you can clearly see the genius of Tom Savini and how he rigged a rubber knife on a track beside her neck and out the front. I have to say that is pretty crafty and always wondered how they did this gag because it looked so real, in my opinion.

Monster Mania 13 Part V reunion.
Rahl from the Night Owl board attended Monster Mania 13 and had this pic snapped of another great Part V reunion with Carol Locatell, Miguel A Nunez, Shavar Ross and Ron Sloan! Awesome! Check out the rest of his pictures of the convention right here!

My new "Roy" Bohr/Dark Side Studios.
Until Night Owl releases their Dick Head Roy mask, this will have to do. I am not a huge fan of this sculpt, but it does has it's charm. This one was sculpted by Jeremy Bohr and painted by Dark Side Studios. I am not liking the eyes, so I will have them repainted as well as the brows punched as apposed to glued.
Not to knock the painter-- it is painted fine, I am just anal. With some added highlights and tweaks here and there this will be a show-quality piece! The pull is super thick so it stands up well as a bust- I think I will have it foam filled as well.

Part III General Store location found!
This was on the F13 blog and wanted to just give props to the dude who runs this site for finding this. I have no clue how he did since there were really no accurate details of the location that I know of. It does look like it is THE shooting location though. Is it sad that things like this gets me excited? I am still hunting down the shooting locations of The Burning- since it was shot over a 90 mile radius in Western, NY at at least a half-dozen locations it will be hard.
If anyone has any information about the Burning location get at me- I have found some small areas that it was shot at, but really nothing significant.

Stu Charno insanity.
I really wish Stu would upload more of these, some excerpts from his book "High Koo". I dunno, but I am convinced Stu is a tad bit insane. Check this video out and check out the others on his YouTube channel.
Friday The 13th behind the scenes photo of the week.
These photos come courtesy of the His Name Was Jason DVD. They are never before seen (before this time) photos of production of Friday The 13th Part II. For those of you who don't own that DVD (or have never seen it) these may be a real treat for you!

Big ole twenty-seven.
I don't wanna milk Crash's post on Friday The 13th Part III's twenty-seventh birthday yesterday, but since Part III is my favorite of the entire franchise I felt compelled to at least say something.
The Return Of Fan Film Friday: Jason Vs. Leatherface
Okay, I really gotta hand it to the film makers with this one- the editing was pretty good and the movie was all-around put together well. However, right off the bat a handful of things stood out to me like a sore thumb; why is The New Blood Jason carrying Freddy's head? Did Jason go on the Jared diet-- he's presumably lost about 55 pounds and Jason has a really nice house and he shuts the door after entering. Sadly, I was not down with the Jason costume as it looked really cheap and chinsey.
I guess it was cool how he c incorporated film footage of Mrs Voorhees and Leatherface III into the movie, it was sort of clever and a nice change of other fan films who used a faux Mrs Voorhees. I dunno though, I just really dislike these crossover stories. They always play out to be more cheesy/silly than interesting. Once it got to the actual acting, the sound was just horrible. I am sure it was due to MySpace's compression., but it made it that much harder to watch.

Gary Kent's book finally released.
For those of you who do not know who Gary is, Gary is a long time mainstay in the infamous Don Jones films like School Girls In Chains, The Forest and Swinger's Massacre. Gary has went on to be a jack-of-all-trades in the movie making business starting out as an actor and going on to direct, apply special-effects make-up, produce and even as a stunt man. Gary's book will cover his journey in making low-budget films in Hollywood. For more information go see Gary at his website.
Old Tom Morga clips.
I found these really funny. The first is from a Jerry's Kids clip at Sea World back in 1982. Tom Morga sort of does a bad job acting and it made me laugh pretty hard.

Why all the hate for remakes?
It's been bothering me lately and really is one of the main reasons that I no longer visit a lot of forums that I used to-- the pointless remakes and the pointless debates that surround them. I will be the first to admit that there's never any reason for any remake. When a franchise takes a shit- and most of them have- they should just put the nail in the coffin and move on. However, I will say that a remake is no worse than a sequel and generally they are pretty much one in the same. Case and point The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003; it was not a bad remake regardless of what some people say. Some people refuse to like it solely because it is indeed a remake and would rather give props to the infamously bad The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. So, why hate TCM 2003? It followed the same exact formula as the original TCM as well as all of it's sequels- hell, Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III and TCM: The Next Generation were pretty much remakes/reboots themselves.

Video interview with CJ Graham.
Odd fact I learned here; Kane Hodder was the first choice for the Hell Cop in Highyway To Hell, which starred C.J. Graham.
Contact information: Barbara Bingham
I get a LOT of emails about contact information for certain stars. So, I reckon every now and then I should put up someone who I have had success with who's contact information is widely known (i.e. not a private contact who wishes not to be bothered).
I had a success with Barbara a few years ago (12-27-06), but as far as I know she still gets her mail from this address. Sometimes it gets forwarded a bit and can take a whole, but it works.
