Brandon Middleton sent me this link of an old TV show called Memories: Then and Now and they did one on Friday the 13th.
There's a short interview with Richard as well as a short clip of him performing, something have all heard about but may have never seen. It's also really cool to see a very young Richard talking. This looks like it ran late 1980's, not sure of the date. Give it a watch.
A big thanks for crediting me up there my good man. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah I beliee I showed this to ya on Facebook over two years ago now but yeah its been a while since I last re-looked at it but I've had it as a Favorite for a while now. Also there was BREIFLY some grainy 16mm South Africa shot footage of the circus in which Richard was traveling with that he briefly posted on his Facebook. I know because I watched it last year. I dunno if it I still up but this is much better footage, go figure.
So interesting in the pre-internet days to still see Warrington "the Liar" Gillette the III credited as "The second Jason". Also interesting the see the young Ari "Gimmie $20!" Lehman, too. :)
But yeah its AMAZING footage with I believe a late Fall of '89 or 1990 Richard. Hodder still looked like his Jason Takes Manhattan self and ther eis the poster & film, so perhaps it was the Fall of that year or the Winter? Also don't take my word for it, ask the uploader, but I believe that television station was a nce Midwestern one in the Dakota's somewhere.
I'm always glad to help out and yeah, one again RIP Mr. Brooker.
Pre-internet these actors were pretty legendary for me. I saw their names but never their faces. I recall seeing Ted White for the first time and being pretty shocked.
DeleteFully agreed there, D.H.
DeleteAnd yeah the first time I saw the credits of John Carpenter's Starman and saw that Ted White was the tall, husky & well-set rural county acting gentleman that badly hit on Karen Alan's in it, I was taken aback. I was like "Ah nice!! There is an early Jason!" and the same thing with Kane's unmasked extended cameo in the mostly super-shitty Jason Goes to (Shit as I call it) Hell, ect.
So it was the exact same thing for me, too. :)
OH MAN did u see Ari. hahaha
ReplyDeletewhat a great video. i never saw that. hodder looks like a lil punk
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff guys. Thanks so much for posting this. I'm still so down over Richard's death. This was a nice way to reflect on the good old days, for sure.
ReplyDeleteHES BADASS ON THAT TRAPEZE
ReplyDeleteaint he!
DeleteOh its all cool Bloody_Heroics my good man!! I've had it saved as a Favorite for a little over two years now since I saw it. :) I got a lot of cool stuff like that saved to my Faves.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah I'm still pretty shaken over it--so far the eldest Jason Voorhees actor/stuntman is Mr. Ted White and he is in FANTASTIC health for his age. Now the late/great Mr. Brooker was barely 59 and that is quite young to go now. Perhaps he had a pre-disposed condition from his family or such? Regardless that I all speculation & none of our business, though I was merely wondering aloud as we're all free to do...
PEACE
I love this thanks again mang!!
ReplyDeleteI havent been here for a few days thanks for all of the brooker goodness. may he rip
