Stan Winston's Jason III

Stan Winston's Jason III
To Friday the 13th fans the fact that Stan Winston worked on Friday the 13th II and III is no shock. We are also familiar with the fact that Winston created the face of Jason III that was used throughout most of the movie. In fact Jason's face was only changed at the end of production to a face that more resembled the face of Jason II by Alan Appone and Douglas White.

The face Winston created was seen in many scenes including the alternate ending. However, the face White and Appone created was used in Chris' flashback where she was attacked by Jason. Winston's sculpt was transformed into several pullover masks that Brooker used. It is most noticeable when worn because Winston's Jason III had a right ear and Appone and White's Jason III does not.

  1. Very cool once again my good man!

I just came in from bluejeans & cheap-o shirt shopping & I find this. Very nice once again. Like you I'm a pretty big Part 3-D mark. And I liked that the sculpts for the masks & appliances were talked about in the Part 3-D Blu Ray special features. Also in the old '04 released boxset they talked about (I mean Richard Brooker that is) having "a pull-over mask to wear, which was hot as Hell...", and I believe that Richard was referring to his under-mask that he wore with his hockey mask, if I am not mistaken?

Anyway I loved them all. I love the late/great Stan the man Winston's for his "fierce" look over all and for the super oddly creepiness of the Double J. White molds at the very end, too.

  3. I guess we can all agree to disagree. And yeah Joel, it has Part 2's Marta Kober in it.

Anyway I personally like the late Stan's sculpting here. I didn't, however, like his Shape mak for Halloween: H20. I thought it was routine and sort of 'blah'.
