Remembering Mrs Voorhees.

When you think of Mrs. Voorhees you rightfully think of Betsy Palmer, right? A lot of people never acknowledge the other people who have donned the sweater and played Mrs. Voorhees, so here's a small tribute to all of the women who played Mrs. Voorhees.

Betsy Palmer: Betsy being the most iconic Mrs. Voorhees, played her in the infamous Friday The 13th (1980) and came back to reprise her role in it's sequel. Betsy is all but retired from the business, taking a role here and there.

Connie Hogan: Connie was an actress brought in for the last scene of Friday The 13th Part 2 (and the beginning of Part 3) to portray Mrs. Voorhees's severed head when Betsy Palmer was unavailable to come out to Connecticut to film. A real actress was needed because at one time the severed head was supposed to wink- glad they cut that part!

Marilyn Poucher: Marilyn was the hair stylist for Friday The 13th Part 3, and later was asked to play Mrs. Voorhees for the last scene when Mrs. Voorhees grabs Chris out of the boat. Marilyn now works with Yahoo!.

Paula Shaw: Having the unfortunate task to play Mrs. Voorhees in the worst Friday The 13th: Freddy vs. Jason, Paula did a great job in her brief scenes. Paula is still acting in motion pictures.

Nana Visitor: Being the cutest woman to ever don the blue sweater, Nana will be seen in the upcoming Friday The 13th remake in February 2009! It's still unknown how much screen time she has, but hopefully it's a good amount- Mrs. Voorhees being a very important part of the Friday The 13th legend. Nana is still acting in motion pictures and television.

  1. Why is Freddy Vs. Jason "the worst"? I think it was the highest grossing film in the series, wasn't it?
