RIP Tony Fish!

I just found out that Tony Fish, better known as T.P. in the cult horror film Madman passed away. Not sure from what, but he will be missed! Godspeed!

Bad movies anyone?

I threw some clips together from a couple movies that I consider to be awfully bad to the point where they are simply amazing. The first are clips from a movie called The American Scream which is a film about a family on a Christmas vacation in a Sierra Mountain town called Wilson Creek. Wilson Creek is a town of adults who really dislike kids and teenagers and ironically a place where families take their children to be killed by the town folk. Of course, the Benzigers did not get that memo!

The movie is cock-full of horrible acting, bad one-liners and scenes that just make no sense what so ever! Sadly, it's not on DVD at all and can easily be found floating around on VHS-- www.fleshwoundvideo.com also sells a bootleg/DVDr of it!

Friday The 13th: Part III original script excerpt.

Most of us fans know that the original script for Friday The 13th Part III differs greatly from what actually made it to the film. The original script contained a lot more scenes, longer sequences and more character development than we got in the end. Scenes like a car and motorcycle chase with the bikers and a scene where Chris and Rick speak about someone (Jason?) sleeping in her bed and rummaging through her belongings. Here's the original script excerpt for the scene where Shelly fakes his own death. This scene was written to be a lot longer with more scares.

Move or Rust with Dr. Paul Kratka

I have to say that I really dig what Kratka has been doing with Scott Goldberg and his website www.drkatka.com and the whole wellness/good health thing. If you're not impressed with this guy yet, just look how good he looks for his age. Think back to 1982 when he was in Friday The 13th Part III- he was one of the eldest cast members and he looked older. Now he looks 15 years younger than his fellow cast members! This video is not only informative, but as I grow older I have completely changed my lifestyle and I really dig people who do things like this!

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 1974 & Daniel Pearl.

I was just watching this, and realized that Daniel Pearl is a freaking amazing Director of Photography. Just the way he shoots and uses the natural colors of the shot instead of gels, uses the background sky, lighting and everything else- works. It's sad than when he shot the remake he used all kinds of chromatic-looking lenses.

Night Owl Productions: Bloody Mutant.

I recently received this from Justin at Night Owl Productions, it's the mutant bust (loosely based off of Jason III) done custom to mimic the Jason at the end of Friday The 13th Part III where his face is exposed with the fresh (and soon to be) iconic axe wound. Justin basically cut the axe wound out of the top of the head and applied a latex appliance underneath and then of course the blood. It looks flawless and am very happy with this!

Kevin O'Brien autograph on eBay

A few people I knew wanted to get a hold of Kevin's autograph because he is one of the more elusive Friday The 13th alum. This is only the fourth autograph I have ever seen from him- this one is on an index card and $19.99. So, any of you who really anted his, here's a huge chance!

Friday The 13th Part II (2010) not happening?

According to Horribid.com it looks to be just that and really this may be a bitter-sweet moment. It seems like this sequel would have been rushed to meet the Friday, August 13, 2010 that everyone wanted. As a fan of this franchise I'd rather wait 3-4 years for an acceptable movie than 1 year for something mediocre.

It really seems that a lot of fans are getting upset over this, but like I said- it may be for the best. Who really wants a rushed movie anyways? I also personally think that Platinum Dunes wants to see how the A Nightmare On Elm Street remake does. I think if that bombs they may be in a hurry to produce this to try and make up the losses. However, I don't think the ANOES remake will bomb, and in fact I think it's going to do very well.

This may also be the end of the Derek Mears era as Jason.

Awesome Part III Dutch poster.

I saw this posted on the Friday The 13th blog today and I am a collector of obscure, cool Friday The 13th posters and a while back I posted some cool ones from Yugoslavia, but this Dutch one has to be one of the most badass ones that I have seen in a while.

Thanks to jasonsfury for posting this!

The dirsctor you'd like to see lensing a Friday The 13th film?

That's the subject of the new poll- which seems to be a pretty highly debated subject. I think we all have people in mind to do so, on the poll I listed a handful of people who I think could do a good job.

Tom Savini: I doubt that Tom would ever consider it, and has more than expressed his hatred for the "killer Jason" character, but Tom did such a great job with the Night Of The Living Dead remake and seems to know how to create tension and atmosphere.
