Warrington Gillette on JustTalkRadio.com 9pm tonight!
Tune into Just Talk Radio at 9pm for the guest Warrington Gillette, also known as Jason Voorhees from Friday The 13th Part II.
Tune in and listen to him talk about shooting Friday The 13th Part II, and all of the fun he had on set throughout the 28 day shoot- including how tough all of the stunts were to perform.
I'm excited as hell to hear about his work with Stunt Coordinator Cliff Cudney and his stunt double Steve Dash who took a few falls for him.
A Nightmare On Elm Street 2010 trailer is here!
Like virtually every horror fan-- and especially us 1980's kids-- this trailer has been THE most anticipaed thing since maybe the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake trailer and I think even more than that. Freddy Krueger seemed to be the one horror villain that everyone was really nervous about being re-created.
I personally think that Jackie Earle Haley will do a good job as Freddy and that according to the trailer he pretty much nailed Freddy. The trailer looked good though- looks like it has that atmosphere that A Nightmare On Elm Street 1 and 2 had, which pretty much all but dissipated after (maybe) Part 3 or 4. The look of Freddy is 50/50-- he now looks like a legitimate burn victim, something he old Freddy did not. Jackie's speech as Freddy was also accurate as a burn victim even though it does sound a lot like he's trying to be Robert Englund too hard.
All in all, I dug the trailer and I have a feeling that this movie is going to make a shit-ton of money.

After re-organizing my VHS collection I noticed that a lot of titles that I owned had very, very similar covers. Most of them were all on different distribution labels so it most definitely not the distribution label copying itself over and over again. Most of these covers have a very common motif- we see the killer and his weapon very close up in the foreground and way off into the distance we wee a house and sometimes in between a victim or two. Some of the more known movies that have this on the VHS box art are Home Sweet Home, Horror House On Highway 5 and Alone In The Dark to name a few. Here are some scans of a handful that I could find-- there are many others.
Is signing your name to a photo that is not you really THAT bad?
In the past I have seen many actors sign their names to photos that are not of them. We all know of the old confrontation between Dick Wieand and Tom Morga with the Part V 'Roy' photos and of course Warrington Gillette continuing to sign his name to photos of Steve Dash.

Old school Dread Central interview with Dash.

Steve Dash as Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th: Part II |
SC: Now I actually did an interview with Warrington about a year ago and I asked him the same question. He claimed at the time in the interview that the only things you did in the film were a couple of insert shots of your hands performing some kill scenes.
SD: That’s what I’ve heard he has said also. For the last twenty-five years I haven’t even gotten involved with it until recently, when Peter Bracke called me about writing his book. As far as the validity of what he says and the validity of what I did can be substantiated and corroborated by Steve Miner and Cliff Cudney, the stunt coordinator.

Behind the scenes photo of the week.
Ted White gives Jason Voorhees' death a thumbs up on the set of Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter. Jason's gruesome death was never seen to it's gory glory until the Deluxe Edition came out a handful of months ago. Even still, you could not enjoy it fully until you (or someone else) edited it all back together. Here are some behind the scenes photos of that death!
