Survive Poster for Unite Against Domestic Violence

This is sort of old news, but I really dig this poster depicting the final girls of Friday the 13th: Part I, II, III and IV. It's available from Fright Rags for $89.99. Those hardcore Friday the 13th collectors out there will love this-- and it's a good cause. All posters (limited to 175, 16 left in stock) are signed by all four final girls and 60% of proceeds go to charity.

Friday the 13th (1980) Production Photos

Here are some great production photos of Friday the 13th (1980); some very seen, some otherwise. I am posting these because I have always loved the cinematography of Friday the 13th (1980) and these production photos really capture that look and feel.

Abandoned Places: The Old Lake Waramaug Casino

Friday the 13th: Part II fans will know this as the bar that Ginny, Paul, Ted and the rest of the counselors went to while the others were left at the camp to be slaughtered by Jason. Most of us fans also know that the place burned down not long after filming. The blog Squidoo; Abandoned Places featured bar, The Old Lake Waramaug Casino and had this to say:
An active nightspot for decades in Litchfield County Connecticut, the old Lake Waramaug Casino seen its scores of locals and out of state visitors for many years. My best guess is that it was built in the 1930's or early 1940's. In 1980 it was used as backdrop of both its interior and exterior in the Hollywood production of "Friday the 13th part 2", other parts of the lake and its bordering town of New Preston was also used as a backdrop too. The movie was released in 1981 and a year or so later the structure caught fire and burned to the ground. This photograph was taken in 1981 while visiting the area.
This is how the land looks as of 2003, thanks to Bong Tokin' Chuckles and the Fridaythe13thFilms.com website. This is the description that accompanied the photograph:
The casino where the counselors go to party was located on West Shore Road, in New Preston. It burned down over 20 years ago, only a few years after filming. This picture is of the land and road where the building used to stand. It is now a private residential property.
Again, thanks Brandon Middleton for this tip!

Here are some great young photos of Kimberly Beck (Friday the 13th: part IV) in various roles. Some are from the movie Yours, Mine and Ours as well as her appearances in The Brady Bunch with Davie Jones. I am not sure of the other photos, so if you know leave a comment.

Comic Books in Friday the 13th Part III

Brandon Middleton recently sent me a photo of the comic books seen behind Shelly in the store scene in Friday the 13th: Part III. I guess only real Friday the 13th geeks will appreciate this- such as myself. Shelly is also holding a Club International porno mag. Below are the comics; You Will Believe in Gosts by DC Comics, and   Master of Kung Fu by Marvel.

Marta Kober on Magnum P.I.

Marta Kober (Friday the 13th: Part II) stars alongside Clu Gulager in episode 123 (Season 6) of Magnum P.I. in an episode called The Way of the Stalking Horse that aired in 1986.

Here's a little write-up about Kober on Magnum-Mania.com
Marta Kober ("Mary Elizabeth") was in Friday the 13th Part II (she was part of the famous after-sex impalement scene) and Playboy's "Inside Out #1". Martha is also remembered for her performance in the educational after-school movie Rodeo Red and the Runaway (1978). She received an Emmy nomination and a Christopher Award for her starring role in that movie. Her performance in this episode as the street kid "Mary Elizabeth" is highly memorable.

Richard Brooker In Memorium on Hell's Kitchen

Another great find from Brandon Middleton, this in memoriam at the end of Hell's Kitchen episode 7 from season 11 can be viewed here. Brooker was responsible for state-of-the-art remote cameras used in the show and I also believe he did directing on the show. Reglardless of what he has done, he was loved by the crew so much that they dedicated the show to him.

Friday the 13th (1980) Behind the Scenes Photo

From: Friday the 13th the Fan's Page Facebook
Here's a pretty rare behind-the-scenes shot of Tom Savini and his assistant Taso Stavrakis moulding the head of Betsy Palmer (Mrs. Voorhees) for her iconic beheading scene in Friday the 13th (1980). Both Savini and Stavrakis undertook the duties of special make-up effects as well as actually playing the killer Mrs. Voorhees in scenes where Betsy Palmer's likeness was not exposed. Savini and Stavrakis played Alice and Mrs' Voorhees in the beheading scene.
