Review of Mark Nelson in 'I Am My Own Wife' (2005)

Mark Nelson in I Am My Own Wife
from: Cleveland.com
And in the middle of all: a quiet, perfectly timed and completely assured performance by heroic actor Mark Nelson, who all by his lonesome not only brings vivid life to von Mahlsdorf but to a dozen other principal characters as well. [...]

Semi-Recent Bruce Mahler

from: www.superiorpi
Ole Axel, errr, Bruce Mahler still has that goofy grin that we all came to love (albeit for 5 whole minutes) in Friday The 13th: Part IV. This was taken at a 2010 Autograph Nationals event in Pasadena.

Behind the scenes: Dana Kimmell

An interesting BTS photo of Dana Kimmell from Friday the 13th: Part III. It's a reversed negative shot, obviously, but it's a good shot of the closet scene in the film's final act.

Part III Revealing Shots of Jason

A full shot of Jason before he kills Harold and Edna
One if the better things about putting these old horror movies on Bluray is that we see never before seen details. Growing up in a VHS era, these movies were always dark and fuzzy to where details were impossible to make out. Ever since these movies have been on DVD, we could make out that Part III has some very revealing shots of Jason's face. But still, they were hard to really see and served as nothing more than teases before the final reveal at the end.

Wayne, You're an Asshole...

from: Devour; Sony Entertainment

Martin Cummins (no relation to Juliette; Part VIII), Jason Takes Manhattan's resident AV nerd, has since become a cult heartthrob to teens and women alike starring in TV shows like Dark Angle, Kyle XY, V and Eureka.  Long gone is his bob haircut (that makes him look oddly familiar to Ruben Farr, Crispin Glover's alter ego). I guess he has a pretty legit fan club, too!

Fame... I'm Gonna Live Forever!

Larry Zerner in Fame from: HudsonLee
As fans we all love to see these crossovers of Friday the 13th franchise actors; like Carey More, Stu Charno and Dominick Brascia in Once Bitten and Amy Steel and Peter Barton in The Powers of Matthew Star. Here's a great duo from the 1983 season of Fame. They were not in the same episode, but since Larry Zerner didn't do many things it's a rare shot of his work on TV.

Behind the Scenes shot of Ted White

I think we have all seen the black and white and low res versions of this photo of Ted White during the filming of Frday the 13th: Part IV. Well, thanks to Crash we have this awesome shot to gander at. From the looks of this photo, it looks like filming was pretty chilly. We all know the story of Judie Aronson and the cold lake, but Topanga Canyon can get pretty cold in the winter time.

Marta Kober in a Touch of Scandal (1984)

from: smartfellowpress.com
Marta Kober (Friday the 13th: Part II) has a small role in this whodunit thriller about a serial killer who kills for political gain. It's nothing original, but I guess it's pretty typical of these 1980s thrillers.

A New Beginning Screen-Used Machete

from: Your Props
From time to time we see these Friday the 13th screen-used props come up, but here's one from A New Beginning owned by "Deadmess" from the Your Props website. This machete has the cut-out for the neck-- to simulate it cutting-- and a blood tube to add blood to the faux cut. This kill, like most in A New Beginning, was pretty much cut out of the movie.

French Video Poster

I dig anything video with it comes to these movies and expecially the promo posters, standees and hangers. All are from an era lost and an era that will never be again: the mom and pop video rental store era. I mean, now you can stream movies with ease, but you can not stream the experience. Now the promo posters and press kits are all digital. That's no good.
